Online PhD Cohort Takes Name

As is traditional with new PhD cohorts, the 14 new doctoral students in the online program have chosen a name, Something With A Six.  They join 5 previous cohorts to form an online doctoral program of 56 students. All the cohort names are as follows:

  • Frodotypicals (or Frodos)
  • M² (or Em-Squares)
  • Third Degreez
  • Quadrophonics
  • Fifth Iteration
  • Something With A Six (or SWAS)

Hughes Defends

Garrison Defends

Amber’s dissertation title is “Usability Evaluation Methods: A Comparative Study of Low-Fidelity and High-Fidelithy Prototyping.”

D’Angelo Defends

Congratulations are in order for Barbara D’Angelo, who passed her dissertation defense yesterday. Barbara’s dissertation is titled “Outcomes and Assessment for Undergraduate Technical Communication Programs,” and her committee was Rebecca Rickly (chair), Miles Kimball, Susan Lang, and Ed White (outside member from the University of Arizona).

Barbara is the first student from the 4-year-old online PhD program in Technical Communication and Rhetoric to defend.
